  • We offer a 25 GBP discount for Early Birds who book more than 2 months in advance.
  • We offer a 50 GBP discount for anyone who books a 2 week retreat.

Full payment must then be received within 4 weeks of start date.
Guests making international bank transfers must add £10.00 to the cost of the retreat to cover bank charges.

Cancellation fees will be incurred as follows

  • Up to 4 weeks before start date - loss of deposit
  • 4 to 2 weeks before start date - loss of 50% of total price
  • 2 weeks or less - loss of 100% of price

Dates and Costs

The climate in the Summer months at El Convento is wonderful. It is warm and sunny with permanent blue skies. Due to its altitude and the fact that it has a microclimate even the hot summer is very bearable and there is always a cool refreshing breeze the evenings are warm.

All prices for retreat holidays are quoted for 1 person per week sharing either a hut, tipi or for bringing their own tent.

All bathroom and toilet facilities are shared

We recommend that guests stay for 2 weeks to get the maximum from these retreats. However it is always possible to stay for 1 week, even if the teacher is running a 2 week block.

Getting There

By Bus and pick up from El Convento

The cheapest way to get to El BURGO the nearest village to El Convento is to get a bus from the Estacion Central in Malaga.

Catch a bus from the airport to the Estacion Central and from here get a bus that goes to EL BURGO.

The bus times are as follows:

MALAGA – EL BURGO. Mon - Saturday: 08:00, 14:00, 18:00, (17:00 from 16thSept-15th April)
The bus journey takes approx 2 hours.

EL BURGO – MALAGA. Mon - Saturday: 07:00, 08:45, 16:15

Guests coming in to Malaga airport around 10:30 hrs can catch the 14:00 bus. Have a leisurely lunch and then catch the bus.

Guests coming into Malaga airport around 16:00 hrs can catch the 18:00 bus

There are 3 pick ups to El Convento on Saturday.

We will pick up guests from the petrol station in El Burgo at 9.30 hrs, 16.00 hrs and 20.00 hrs in our white four wheel drive and take them to El Convento

These set transfer times are charged at 10 euros one way.

Any person who arrives in El Burgo outside of these times and wishes to be collected from the village will be charged 35 Euros for one way.

Please arrive to meet the designated pick up times, we cannot cater for late arrivals, if you arrive late and cannot get the last bus we suggest you stay at a hotel in Malaga, the one we recommend is cheap and cheerful (30 euros/night) and a good location:

Then get the bus at 8.00am on Sunday morning, we can come and collect you for the extra price of 35 Euros for the additional transfer.

Getting Away

To leave El Convento on the departure date there will be transfers at 9.00 hrs, 15.30 hrs, and 19.30 hrs.
Please make sure that your flight times tally up with these tranfer times.

Suggestion

Do not save yourself 15 GBP by arriving in the middle of the night, you will end up having to stay in a hotel and then probably get a taxi which will cost you in the region of 100 Euros – not a good saving!

By Taxi – approx 65 Euros from the Airport to El Burgo

If you arrive and you don’t wish to get the bus to El Burgo then you can always take a taxi from the airport to the village, you will then have to wait to be collected at the times designated above. The journey takes approx 1 hr 15 mins and costs 65 Euros please make sure you have this price clear with the driver!

By Hire Car – Directions to El Convento

My strong recommendation is don't hire a car, everyone gets lost without fail...
If you must for any reason do not attempt the drive at night, El Convento is in the middle of a National Park and impossible to know where you are in the dark if you are not familiar with it.
I suggest that you get yourself a map and read it carefully and choose youre own route to El Burgo, then you are responsible.
Once you have arrived in El Burgo follow the directions to El Convento that are outlined underneath.

  • When you arrive in El Burgo find the main roundabout with the petrol station right next to it: Gasolinera in Spanish. Get on the roundabout and turn left which is signposted to MALAGA (A366)

  • Go over bridge over the river, carry on for 2 kms, at the next small bridge you will see a large green sign on the right hand side of the road with deers on it that says Parque Natural, Sierra de las Nieves, this is the dirt track that will take you to El Convento.
  • Follow dirt track approx 3 km and you will reach picnic area on left called Fuensanta carry on straight another 2 km until you reach large stone cross and signpost to LOS SAUCES, follow signs to Los Sauces 3 km (Straight on). Follow track to the top of hill until you reach sign saying LOS SAUCES - marked by another stone cross. Take the middle track, go approx 300 metres until you reach the Convent wall and gate.

  • Open the Convent gate and follow dirt track approx 1 km until you reach Convent building, park up.
